Caroline Van Steendam, PhD candidate in the Raskin research group, is a recipient of the Integrated Training in Microbial Systems (ITiMS) fellowship. This fellowship aims to train future scientists who will design and implement novel prevention, diagnostic, and treatment strategies stemming from a deep understanding of the impact of microbial communities on human and environmental health. As an ITiMS fellow she will be part of an interactive cross-training program that focuses on combining mathematical modeling with population and laboratory approaches. Congratulations Caroline!
